Lemon juice (nimbu ras in Hindi) has many health benefits. It is a good for skin problems, dental problems, constipation, indigestion, obesity, cold and throat infection and many other health problems.
Actually, the lemon is a yellow fruit of small evergreen tree which is used for culinary and remedial purposes. Lemon is available in each and every kitchen. Its juice is useful in various natural remedies to cure different health problems. We use the pulp and rind of lemon in cooking and baking also. The juice of the lemon gives a sour taste. Use of lemon is almost essential to make lemonade, soft drinks, and cocktails etc; it is also used as a short-term preservative on certain foods. The juice of the lemon may be used for cleaning purpose to brighten cookware, to remove grease, to bleach stains, and to disinfect etc.

Lemon has 90% water; it fulfills the water deficiency during summer and prevents from summer’s diseases. Lemon is useful to cure some small diseases too.
Major Health benefits of Lemon Juice:
1. Cures Heat Stroke:
Lemon (nimbu) prevents from heat stroke (Loo) during summer. Use of lemon soft drink as a preventive measure against heat stroke (loo) is very common. To make lemon drink, squash juice of one lemon in a glass of water, then add a pinch of black salt and four teaspoon sugar (or as per taste); drink it once daily in afternoon or before going out.
2. Good for Indigestion:
Juice of lemon is used to ease an upset stomach or to cure indigestion since long back. Simply, squash one lemon in a glass of water and add juice of 4-5 ‘Neem’ (Azadirachta indica) leaves and a pinch of salt in it. To squash the juice of neem leaves, crush or grind leaves and sieve. It tricks the liver into producing bile, which helps the food in moving through gastrointestinal tract smoothly.

- Add one tsp of Triphla powder in a cup of lukewarm water.

Lemon is also good to cure cold without any medicine. Boil a glass of water over heat; then add juice of a lemon (nimbu ras) in boiled over water. Let it to be cool; drink it before going to sleep with some honey.

Lemon (nimbu) is also effective to remove smaller kidney stones. If you have such kidney stones, chew half lemon daily with rock salt; it helps to break them apart and flush them out.

Lemon can treat scabies or itching too within 2 days. Put 100 ml coconut oil (nariyal ka tel) in a pan, add two lemons juice in it and boil for 10-15 minutes. Let it to be cool and keep into a bottle; rub this oil on the affected area 2-3 times in a day.

Lemon juice (nimbu ras) works well to control obesity (motapa). Lemon contains a flavonoid called nairinzanin that burns the extra fat of the body. Take its juice with honey and a pinch of salt in lukewarm water daily in the morning.

Lemon is used to cure different hair related problems like- dandruff, hair fall etc. Apply it directly on the scalp to remove dandruff. Likewise, by applying lemon juice with honey on the scalp directly, you can prevent hair fall problem.
10. Sore Throat:
Lemon juice (nimbu ras) has anti-bacterial properties; it is also rich in vitamin- C which helps in treating infection and soreness of throat. Simply, take lemon juice with honey (shahad) directly or with green tea for curing throat infections.
